Week 2 Muddiest Point
What is the digitization process for audio artifacts? How do we get from, say, the master tapes of a Rudy Van Gelder recording of Lee Morgan from the 1950s to a digitally remastered .mp3 version of the same session? What is the conversion process from analog tape to digital file?

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. The only experience I have with analog to digital conversion is recording some of my LP's to MP3's, but the sound quality is mediocre at best. How you go from 2" magnetic tape to high quality MP3 is a mystery to me.
